Turn Macro Photography into Framed Artwork

Written by Jackie D'Elia  |  Published on March 18, 2011

Photography can make for some interesting artwork… especially when shot up close. The colors and patterns of macro photography can be very beautiful even if you don’t know what the subject is. Good enough to frame? I think so. Have a look.

They came from this Eastern Tiger Swallowtail.

Get Creative! Photoshop makes it easy to convert images into art.

Converted to a handpainted look.

These are so beautiful! I don’t usually see this butterfly around Houston. Do you take these here locally?
You’ve done a great job capturing this amazing creature.
    I especially love the macros.

    I SO agree: wonderful patterns.
You are fortunate to have such spectacular butterflies to work with though.

I am envious of your new macro lens! I have a Nikon camera and have been eyeing a similar lens for some time, but haven’t been able to part with the cash! 🙂 Great photos, Jackie.
